Les Cigales dans la Fourmilière translates, loosely, as "the cicadas in the anthill" — and the wines follow the spirit of the name. Julie Brosselin and Ivo Ferreira farm 10 hectares of organic vines in the hills of Montpeyroux, just 30 kilometers from the Mediterranean, making wines that are lighter and fresher than you'd expect from the sun-baked Languedoc. Skin contact, co-fermentation, minimal intervention. Each bottle a small defiance of convention.
