A cool-climate farming project in the Columbia River Gorge by Laura Brennan-Bissel
Laura Brennan-Bissel (formerly of Inconnu Wines in California) moved to the north side of the Gorge five years ago and is now releasing the first wines from her own Energaia Vineyard on Underwood Mountain. Perched at 1,700 feet facing Mount Hood, Laura farms regeneratively—no-till, chemical-free, and supported by her resident flock of sheep.
The basalt-pebble soils, fierce winds, and short growing season give rise to wines that are taut, pure, and full of energy. Fermented with native yeast and aged in neutral barrels, they are clean, focused, and distinctly of place.
