The Wine Department
We're an independent producer program built around a new generation of winemakers, with a real emphasis on sustainable viticulture and small-batch production. France is home base for our Old World picks, and we reach into select corners of Italy, Spain, and other European regions we love. On the New World side, we stay close to home: Oregon, Washington, and California.
Sometimes what draws us to a wine is technique: a producer doing something bold and a little boundary-pushing. Sometimes it's terroir: a wine that tastes unmistakably like where it's from. Usually it's a bit of both. What matters most to us is sustainability, transparency about where a wine comes from, and growers with a real relationship to their land. And honestly: everything on our shelves is here because we tasted it, got excited, and couldn't wait to share it with you.
Wine Wednesday
Wine Wednesday started in Négociant's early days as an excuse for the staff to each bring in a bottle, open it, and taste together after a shift. It was less a program than a habit: a way for the crew to get familiar with what was on the shelf and talk about it honestly.
A few months in, we opened it up. Now in its third year, Wine Wednesday is a weekly staple: a flight built around a theme, whether that's a grape, a producer, a region, a style of winemaking, or just whatever the crew's been excited about lately. Come learn something, meet people in the industry, or just try something new.
Wine Club
This is where we join forces with our sister spot, Bar Diane, and share the wines we're most excited about each month, whether that excitement comes from technique, place, or both. Each release is a curated selection from our favorite independent producers, built to help you discover something new and get a little more curious about what you're drinking at home.
Subscriptions are released every third Thursday of the month, available for pickup at the shop. Members get tasting notes, pairing recommendations, and a complimentary tasting on release day.
Memberships come in three tiers:
Technique Driven (2 bottles)
Because rules were meant to be broken. Smaller production, naturally made wines that push against convention, whether that's technique, appellation, or just coloring outside the lines.
Terroir Driven (2 bottles)
True expressions of time and place. Independent producer wines that show off the integrity of a region, a variety, or a style.
The Complete Set (4 bottles)
Both Technique Driven and Terroir Driven, together.
A few optional add-ons are also available, from grower Champagne to a rare pick from our wine team, if you want to round things out.
